Three members of the Marshall University women's soccer team were awarded Conference USA honors this week.

Senior Molly Snead and junior Erika Duncan were named to the All-Conference Second Team while Sarah Vinson earned All-Freshman Team honors. This season was the first time in Marshall women's soccer history that three players earned postseason recognition.

"We're very excited anytime individuals receive accolades during the season," Marshall head coach Kevin Long said in a news release. "It's very clear that the team is being successful."

With three goals and four assists, Snead, forward and midfielder, emerged as a leader this season, Long said.

"Molly Snead had two game-winners through the year if not more," Long said. "You had a great group of leadership on and off the field."

Duncan, forward, led the Herd in scoring with nine goals this season and had a conference high five game-winning goals. Duncan also led the team with 20 shots on goal.

Midfielder Vinson tallied three goals and an assist. Vinson also started every game for Marshall this season and recorded 18 shots throughout the year.

"The successes are outstanding," Long said. "It definitely shows that we are hopefully going to be able to bring some competitiveness that hasn't been here before."

The coaches of C-USA vote for the yearly awards at the end of each season. The awards capped off Marshall's most successful season in program history.
