Starting Thursday, July 1, Huntington, W. Va. will be thriving with residents celebrating two events. Guyandotte, W.Va. is celebrating it's bicentennial and Independence Day activities will be going on throughout the weekend.
The Heiners Summer Concert Series will continue at Pullman Square every Thursday until Labor Day. The Guyandotte bicentennial festivities will kick off with a parade beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, followed by food and music.
Friday, July 2, Guyandotte will be hosting historical tours and presentations, street fairs, music, and fireworks that begin at 10 p.m. Huntington Outdoor Theatre will be presenting "Annie" at 8:30 p.m. at the Ritter Park Ampitheater.
Plenty of activities are happening Saturday, July 3, around the tri-state area. Festivities resume in Guyandotte, including historical tours and a street fair. Live music from Carter's Chord at Camden Park will start at 7 p.m. and a second performance will begin at 8:30 p.m. "Annie" continues it's run on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at the Ritter Park Ampitheater. The Heritage Farm Museum and Village will be hosting a youth festival, celebrating Hands-on Farm Fun. The 93.7 Dawg Dazzle is Saturday at Harris River Front Park starting at 4 p.m. Along with family activities beginning at 5 p.m., various music acts will be performing and fireworks will be set off at 10 p.m.
The Guyandotte celebrations will come to a close on Sunday, July 4, and the final performance of the weekend for "Annie" will be Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at the Ritter Park Ampitheater. At Camden Park, music from Traci Ann Stanley will begin at 7 p.m. and a fireworks display will begin at dark.
