Marshall University's Student Advisory Council for the Lewis College of Business met to begin planning activities for the upcoming student appreciation week.
"All of our organizations in the college of business get together and keep each other updated on what is going on in our organizations," said Sara Freeman for the advisory committee. "It helps us to have one entity that knows everything that is going on with different groups in the college of business."
The activities include a trivia game show for prizes, a cookie bake-off contest and a birthday party including a dunking booth, birthday cake, a mini-raffle and food.
The student advisory council's goal for the week is to increase awareness, to create a better relationship for students with the college of business and to facilitate student involvement in the college, said Stacy Belk, graduate assistant for the college of business.
During the meeting, the council also discussed future events and activities happening in the college of business and in their organizations.
On April 1, Dave Bean, business coach from the Tri-State area, will speak to students. The council may also be planning an organizational formal and awards banquet for students.
On April 14, Chong Kim, dean of the college of business, will host a forum open to all students addressing student concerns in the college of business and in the different organizations.
Student appreciation week will offer different activities April 18 to April 22.
