Residents protested the closure of the University of Cincinnati's only Graduate and Family Housing - Morgens and Scioto Halls - on McMicken Commons on Tuesday, May 13.

Residents were notified on March 3 the halls would be closed starting Aug. 31, citing the lack of fire sprinklers and safety equipment in the buildings.

Throughout her life, Meghan Freas loved to learn about languages. In high school, she studied German, Latin, Arabic and Spanish and enrolled in the Harrisburg Area Community College during her senior year to take two additional semesters of Arabic.

She also understood bits of French, Russian and Turkish and recited a multitude of foreign phrases to her friends whenever they got together.

"Debit, credit or Wright1 Card?" This is a question students could be hearing at certain off-campus restaurants as soon as the end of this month.

By late May or early June the initial group of area businesses will implement the Wright1 card as an acceptable method of payment, according to University Bursar and Director of Treasury Services, Steven C.

The Trojan Evolve Tour College Tour visited Wright State University on Monday, May 12, to inform students on the state of sexual health in the United States. The Trojan Corporation is funding the nationwide campaign to inform students about safe sex.

"It's amazing that students have never touched a condom and don't know how to put a condom on,' said Kari Kuka, Trojan Evolve Sexual Health Educator.

A popular college pastime will soon come to video game consoles. Developer Incredible Technologies is bringing cornhole to the Nintendo Wii with "Target Toss Pro: BAGS."


In the tailgating phenomenon, players take turns tossing small bags filled with corn at raised wooden boards with holes in the end. Bags landing on the boards count for one point, while those going in the hole net three. The first team to score 21 points is the winner.

The Department of Student Activities and the Student Organizations Budgeting Committee (SOBC) are reviewing the validity of Nexus, Wright State's literary journal, and are considering cutting off funding for the publication.

Nexus publishes local, national and international submissions of poetry, short stories, flash fiction, novel excerpts (that can stand alone), memoirs, photography, graphic prints, drawings, digital art and paintings.
